Solar Mechanical Engineer

SOLAR SWITCHING SYSTEMS, INC. dba S2 SYSTEMS, INC. is seeking Solar Mechanical Engineers at our facility at 333 City Blvd West, Ste. 1700, Orange, CA, 92868 to design and support AC recombiners, switchboards, transformers, and disconnects for solar systems. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related field and/or foreign degree equivalent. 24 months experience as a Mechanical or Design Engineer or in any closely related field in the following job duties: Design equipment components, machine parts, assemblies to required customer specifications focusing on design for function, manufacturing, assembly, service, safety, cost, and inventory efficiency. Collaborate with Manufacturing Shop, Planning, Sales & Marketing, and Engineering Management to determine the feasibility of designs and subsequent progress of designs or design changes to ensure that designs meet customer specifications and industry standards. Submit, review, research, and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECR's) as required. Develop prototype testing protocol and schedules. Use engineering and design tools including AutoDesk AutoCAD, AutoDeskVault, AutoDesk Inventor Proficiency, to create mechanical and kinematic designs, make calculations, conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Follow-up on progress of new designs installed for testing in customer facilities and provide technical support to customers and end users.
